Heretofore known as “LVErs” (thought you might like that! 😉),

✨ La Vie Ensemble is excited to announce that our “Love” theme for February will magically transform into “Community” in March! ✨

We’ve planned a month filled with:

All with community in mind. But first, let us ask you this…

🧐 The lyrics of "Help" make us wonder: how do you balance two seemingly opposite life philosophies?

💡 The first is individualism, focused on personal growth and uniqueness in a competitive world:
👉 “I am unique, I am special, I do it my way.”

💞 The second is interconnectedness, recognizing that we all need help along the way and thrive in community:
👉 “It takes a village, my strength is asking for help, I love being a part of a community.”

At first glance, these ideas seem contradictory, yet every one of us navigates both in some way—unless, of course, you've actually made it to that deserted island and, like Lily Tomlin, “stopped the world and got off!” 🏝️😆

More often, the challenge lies in imbalance between the two:
⚖️ Some struggle with an overdeveloped sense of self-reliance, resisting help that’s right in front of them.
⚖️ Others experience a “loss of self”, always serving others at the expense of their own well-being.

🌱 Many individuals in recovery from addictive behaviors say their breakthrough moment was when they surrendered, admitted defeat, and asked for help. In AA, relapsing is humorously called “doing further research”—a reminder that isolation can quietly lead us back to destructive patterns, while a strong community fosters growth and healing.

💫 So, it probably won’t surprise you that La Vie Ensemble - Life Together as One embraces this interconnectedness! 💫

🎵 Just as Hélène Nicole and David have recently shared several songs about romantic love, we’ve also written many songs about community. We love the idea that we are all connected through the shared experiences of life and spirit.
