Funding Sept 26 to June 28 for schools Financement d'écoles de sept. 26 juin 28
Good news for BC schools! The Culture in the Classroom program has been renewed for another two years, and ImmersArt program as well, through Canadian Parents for French BC & Yukon (CPF BC YK)
The program provides funding for French-language cultural activities, workshops and performances for students in public schools across British Columbia.
What schools need to know
Culture en Classe Funding:
- Anglophone schools can receive up to $1,000 CAD per visit, regardless of grade level. Both French Immersion and Core French schools are eligible.
Immers'Art Funding:
- Anglophone French Immersion Middle and High schools can receive the ImmersArt Funding up to $1500 per school, per year. A non-profit organization can apply for multiple micro-subsidies if it holds activities in multiple schools.
Passep'Art Funding
- Francophone schools administered by the Conseil scolaire francophone can receive the PassepArt Funding up to $1500 per school, per year. A non-profit organization can apply for multiple micro-subsidies if it holds activities in multiple schools.
Travel supplements
All schools outside the Vancouver and Victoria areas qualify for the visiting artists to receive travel supplements.
How many visits can my school receive?
- French Immersion schools: Culture à l'école allows up to 2 visits over the two-year funding period. You may use both visits in the same year or one per year.
- Core French schools: 1 visit over the two-year funding period.
- Francophone schools: 1 visit per year with PasspArt.
- Those funding programs are available to public schools only; private schools are not eligible.
What activities qualify?
The activities must be entirely in French for Culture en classe. Culture en classe does not fund bilingual or English-language activities.
Bilingual activities can be funded in part through your local CPF chapter.
Can funding be combined with other grants?
Yes! Schools can combine Culture en classe funding with other sources of funding.
CPF BC YK also administers ImmersARTs, which provides funding for French Immersion schools at the intermediate and secondary levels (Grade 6 and up).
Les organismes à but non lucratif locaux peuvent appliquer pour le financement PassepArt des écoles francophones de leurs régions.
